Jim Devaney and Guary Bernadelle are regular visitors to Craggagh NS after sparking up a friendship  with Mr Charlton during his years in Bohola NS. Jim was a schoolteacher and principal for many years in New York before he founded the AHED. Haitian born Guary, is his protégé and is president of Rockford Career College.

Jim and Guary share their wonderfully diverse educational experiences with the senior children in Craggagh. Jim has a great in depth knowledge of the American education system while Guary’s journey through primary and secondary education in Haiti  is a fascinating one.

The children love listening and chatting to Jim and Guary and are attempting to learn some of Guary’s native language "Creole". In exchange, Guary has promised to learn  cúpla focail gaeilge!

Jim’s roots are firmly planted in Bohola and he visits his ancestral home regularly. Although Guary was born in Haiti, we’re convinced he has a bit of Irish in him somewhere!
