Mock General Election
2011

Not content to sit back at watch their parents, teachers and older siblings cast their votes in this years’ General Election, the children of Craggagh NS got in on the act too!

The senior children were divided into groups and assigned a political party, and just like their adult counterparts, the gloves were off pretty quickly as the campaign heated up.

Below, you’ll see photographs of the campaign, some of the live (with audience) debates, the casting of votes (complete with polling officers, clerks etc) and of course the all important count!

Incidentally, Enda Kenny topped this poll, but only succeeded in bringing two of is fellow partymen with him – John O Mahony and Michael Ring. Dara Calleary took his seat, while the surprise package was Jerry Cowley (who didn’t quite make it in the real thing!).
